        To add to the tractive power of the F7-A, EMD designed a supplementary diesel locomotive without a cab. This "B-unit" could be coupled to one or more F7-A locomotives and controlled by a single engineer in the cab of the "A-unit." The LGB F7-B is equipped with LGB´s acclaimed digital sound system. Sound effects include "notch" synchronized diesel motor, bell, horn and brakes. Additional sounds are accessible using the LGB Multi-Train System. This unpowered model is made for use only with LGB F7-A models. The Prototype To increase the pulling power of its popular F7-A locomotive, General Motors' Electro Motive Division (EMD) designed a matching diesel locomotive without a cab. This "B-unit" could be coupled to one or more F7-A locomotives and controlled by a single engineer in the cab of the "A-unit."
