In 1939, the Priegnitz County Railway in East Germany ordered two narrow gauge Wismar railbusses to streamline passenger operations. This LGB model of these "anteaters" is as charming as the prototype. Your passengers can store their luggage on the large roof rack and in the luggage baskets next to the motor housings. The sliding doors open to the detailed and illuminated interior. Railfans will note the prototypical livery of the Deutsche Reichsbahn. The driver likes the automatic directional lighting, with three white front and two red rear lights. A power control switch allows you to park the railcar, with lights on or off.

    The Prototype
The Priegnitzer Kreiskleinbahnen bought two narrow gauge railbuses from the Wismar Coach Works in 1939. The distinctive Wismar design featured twin motors with controls at both ends of the railbus. This eliminated the need to turn the railbus at the end of the line, making it popular with narrow gauge and short line railways. From 1932 to 1941, Wismar produced these railbuses in a wide variety of gauges, from 750 mm to standard, for railways across Europe.
