LGB 20583 Santa Fe F7A Diesel Locomotive w/Lights and Sound

This is a model of an EMD F7 A unit diesel locomotive in an Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad version. The paint scheme and lettering are prototypical for Era III. It has a different road number from that for 20581. The locomotive body is partially chrome-plated to show the original locomotive's typical stainless steel look. Both trucks are driven by powerful Buhler motors with ball bearings. Traction tires. The locomotive has a built-in mfx/DCC decoder with many light and sound functions that can be controlled digitally. It also has a built-in plug connection on the back to power the speaker in the adjoining B unit from the decoder in the A unit. The locomotive has many separately applied details and the cab doors can be opened.

Length over the couplers 61 cm / 24".

***Please note, LGB's newer version of the F7 A unit (2020 and newer) will not run with previous versions of the F7 B unit. The 2 pin connection on the A unit has been changed to prevent connecting the 2 together with the older style "2 pin plug". Running the new A units with previous versions of the B units can harm the circuitry on the F7 A Units.
