As stations increased in size, switch towers were built to operate the switches and signals centrally. The switch tower in the shape of a mushroom was the one most frequently found - a type of construction also used on Rosenbach station. Whereas the base of the octagonal building contains wire pulleys and tensioning units, the signal room, which has glass on all sides, houses the lever frames for operating the switches and signals. Typical of this type fo tower is the filigreed outside staircase and handrail. Anyone knows anything about G scale railways knows you cannot manage without the Rosenbach switch tower.
